THE
LAWYERS CLUB was founded in 1922 to provide an opportunity
for lawyers and justices to meet with other members of the profession
and to listen to speakers from a wide range of backgrounds, disciplines
and interests. Our speakers have included distinguished members
of the Bench and Bar, politicians, journalists, academics and sports
and media personalities.
Dinner meetings are held from fall until spring in Convocation Hall
at Osgoode Hall, after a reception in the Barrister's Lounge. After
the opening of the Courts each January, all justices of the Court
of Appeal and the Toronto Region of the Superior Court of Justice
are invited to Judges' Night as guests of the Club.
Beef Night, held every December, allows our members to air their
pet "beefs" about the profession or anything else. Roasts
of beef are awarded as prizes for the cleverest presentations (and
one turkey).
Bar admission students, barristers and solicitors in good standing
in Canada, and justices and judges of all courts in Canada who were
lawyers before their appointment to the Bench are eligible for membership.
The annual membership fee is $75. For membership information please

information, please send an e-mail to info@thelawyersclub.ca.
